A Closer Look At Moses’ First Sign Before Pharaoh & Its Implications | Exodus 7:8-13

Spread the love

God sent Moses to pharaoh, king of Egypt with the following charge – tell him to free the people of Israel, I’m paraphrasing. The charge is recorded for us in Exodus 6:10-13

10 So the Lord said to Moses, 11 “Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the people of Israel go out of his land.” 12 But Moses said to the Lord, “Behold, the people of Israel have not listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?” 13 But the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge about the people of Israel and about Pharaoh king of Egypt: to bring the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

God already knew that pharaoh was going to resist Him, as a matter of fact the Lord Himself said that He was going to harden pharaoh’s heart in order that He might show the king of Egypt and the Egyptians that HE is Lord.

I want us to focus on the first sign Moses did in front of Pharaoh today and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to look at the miracle itself and its significance. A lot of time we are so thrilled and enamored by the supernatural power of God in the events recorded for us that we forget the other lessons that are being taught, see video below.
