Spread the love

Welcome back to our study of the book of Mark courtesy of the late DR RC Sproul. In our last session, we looked at chapter 11. Today we will continue with chapter 12 and our breakdown will be as follows:

The Parable of the Vinedressers (Mark 12:1–12) — A Sermon by R.C. Sproul

While the Pharisees built monuments to the prophets, they rejected what the prophets taught. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul continues his exposition of the book of Mark to consider Jesus’ confrontation of these unfaithful leaders.

God and Caesar (Mark 12:13–17) — A Sermon by R.C. Sproul

Is it right for Christians to pay taxes to wicked rulers? Continuing his sermon series in the book of Mark, R.C. Sproul unfolds Jesus’ teaching about the responsibilities we have toward the state.

The Resurrection (Mark 12:18–27) — A Sermon by R.C. Sproul

For the Christian, there is indeed something to look forward to after this life. Continuing his sermon series in the book of Mark, R.C. Sproul reminds us of Jesus’ clear affirmation that our souls and our bodies will not be destroyed by death, but we will live in the resurrection.

The Great Commandment (Mark 12:28–34) — A Sermon by R.C. Sproul

Every second of Jesus’ life, He loved the Father with all of His heart, all of His soul, all of His mind, and all of His strength. Continuing his exposition of the gospel of Mark, R.C. Sproul looks at this great commandment that sums up the whole duty of human beings before their Creator.

David’s Son and Lord (Mark 12:35–37) — A Sermon by R.C. Sproul

The scribes and Pharisees often tried to catch Jesus off guard with questions about the law of God. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul continues his series in the gospel of Mark to show how Jesus turned the tables on His opponents, asking them to explain a passage of the Old Testament that declares His deity.

The Scribes and the Widow (Mark 12:38–44) — A Sermon by R.C. Sproul

When a poor widow brought her offering to the temple, she hoped to go unseen because of how little she had to give. But God incarnate was there watching her, delighting in her selfless sacrifice. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul continues his exposition of the book of Mark.

PS: All the videos series from RC Sproul added to the website have been thoroughly listened to by myself. And I highly recommend them to anyone looking to deepen his/her faith in Christ. We live in the age of relativism and now more than ever understanding what we believe, and why believe what believe is not optional.
