I have been tormented and harassed by several thorns in my flesh and like Paul I’ve pleaded with the Lord to take them away on multiple occasions. Unlike Paul though I didn’t hear a voice saying
my grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in your weakness
nonetheless that particular verse and passage spoke volumes to me. There is absolutely nothing wrong in asking God to take away the thorns in our life but there is a prosperity teaching that has falsely led people to believe that they will be exempt from pain on this side of eternity.
