For Any Lives Or Anything To Matter At All God’s Word Has To Matter

I want you to first leave all your presuppositions you may have about anything/topic  in the parking lot prior to entering this arena. I’m writing this post because a couple of weeks ago, some lady on linkedin made the following statement,

Conduct yourself on the internet as if someone is blogging or writing a book about. Act as if they are documenting all of your racist/homophobic/transphobic rants.

I agree with her statement partially. When I came across it, I told her that she ought to take her own advice, and also added that I should be entitled to my own stance when it comes to gender issues.  My comments unleashed a Tsunami of responses from her disciples/followers. Now let me ask you all the following questions:

  1. Why should Black lives, Caucasian lives, Asian lives , ( fill in the blank ) or any lives matter?
  2. Who told you that Black lives, Caucasian lives, Asian lives , ( fill in the blank) or any lives matter?
  3. How do you know that Black lives, Caucasian lives, Asian lives, ( fill in the blank) or any lives matter?

Like I said earlier, I agree with her statement partially. I’m black and I’ve been subjected to racism in several occasions and I agree that Black lives matter. But my consent with this statement is birthed out of my coming under the absolute word of God. For the word of God says in Genesis 1:27

27 So God created man in his own image,
    in the image of God he created him;
    male and female he created them.

I only agree  with her statement partially because when it comes to marriage, the word of God is very clear about how God defines marriage, for the word of God says,

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for[e] him.” 19 Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed[f] every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam[g] there was not found a helper fit for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made[h] into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said,

“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”[i]

24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed..

Why should Black lives, Caucasian lives, ( fill in the blank) lives matter? Because their lives matter to God. People would often say that Black lives, Caucasian lives, Blue lives matter because it is the right thing. But here is the problem that we’re facing- who said that it was the right thing? How do we know that racism or anything is wrong or right? What is our standard for  righteousness? Do we establish Truth by referendum?  Where did we get our definition of what is good or bad? If we don’t have a basis or a standard for right or wrong, who is to say that anyone is wrong? How can we follow any laws at all if there is no ultimate law giver? If there is not a transcendent God that is sovereign, then everything is permissible. So if anyone chooses to be a racist, a pedophile, an abusive husband, a child molester, an alcoholic, fill in the blank, they ought to have the right to be whatever they want to be since they are simply dancing to the music of their DNA. Let me tell you where we derive our sense of wrong and right from.

Romans 2:14-16

14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.

The existence of our moral laws scream the existence of a moral law giver. There is only one set of natural laws and that could’ve only come from one mind. God has imposed His laws on our hearts, you don’t have to know the 10 commandments to know that stealing is wrong. We were created to reflect the character of God , this is why by nature, we do the things of the law. And if there is a universal moral law within our hearts, then there is a law giver who is transcendent and has constituted the absolute Truth.

You see where I’m going with it, in the same way racism is wrong , homosexual relationships are absolutely an abomination before the Lord. The problem is this, people only want the law of God as long as it is convenient to them. They only pick and choose what benefits them from the law of God. But God is impartial and His laws must be obeyed impartially. For anything to matter at all,  God’s word must matter, in other words for anything to be valid, it  must be scrutinized and approved by the word of God. There is something very frightening going on now, let me show you some of the statements the Black Lives Matter movement posted on their website,

We are guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status, or location.

We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead.

We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.

We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise)

At first glance, whoever runs this website seems to be an advocate of good principles; but upon closer inspection, the goal  is to promote an antipathy toward the word of God. This group hides under the fact that they are really championing black folks but it’s a smoke screen for their real agenda- promoting the homosexual/queer/transgenr ( you fill in the blank) lifestyle which is directly opposed to the absolute Truth of the word of God. They are absolutizing the relatives and relativizing the absolute. Don’t be fooled, this is what the word of God says about such people, Romans 1:18-32

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,[g] in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Don’t let them fool you, they know that what they are doing is wrong, their minds  have been darkened because their hardened hearts. They will probably question the objective reality of the existence of God and the reliability of His Word. Listen, God Himself has made himself known to anyone through the general revelation, the things that have been created through His divine nature and eternal power, so mankind is without excuse. An atheist is an atheist not because he/ she hasn’t been given enough evidence about the existence of God, but because of his own immorality. He/she has decided to suppress the Truth about the existence of God in order to advance his own agenda. Denying God by suppressing or repressing the Truth about HIS existence
eventually becomes adopted as a form of truth , the lie becomes truth to them, because their minds have been darkened.
