Welcome back to our study of the book of Acts with Dr. RC Sproul, in our last message, we talked about Peter’s sermon on the day of Pentecost as he began to explain the “predetermined” plan of GOD as it pertains to the death and resurrection of Jesus. We’ll continue to look at the final part of Peter’s sermon and the bold declaration he made about Jesus been exalted as both Lord and Christ.
Both LORD and Christ
Acts 2:34-39
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, yet he himself says,
‘The Lord [the Father] said to my [a]Lord [the Son],
“Sit at My right hand,
35
Until I make Your enemies a [b]footstool for Your feet.”’
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel recognize beyond all doubt that God has made Him both Lord and Christ (Messiah, Anointed)—this Jesus whom you crucified.”
The Ingathering
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart [with remorse and anxiety], and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what are we to do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is for you and your children and for all who are far away [including the Gentiles], as many as the Lord our God calls to Himself.”

PS: All the videos series from RC Sproul added to the website have been thoroughly listened to by myself. And I highly recommend them to anyone looking to deepen his/her faith in Christ. We live in the age of relativism and now more than ever understanding what we believe, and why believe what believe is not optional.

My name is Tayib Salami and I started Tayibs.com for the sole purpose of exploring difficult questions about the Christian faith that most of us shy away from. In 2017, I entered a very dark time in my life and it’s only by the grace of the Living God that I’m still alive today. It led me to really go deeper in my faith and consider a myriad of questions that I never thought about asking myself or others before. Welcome and enjoy the ride with me.
