Don’t Love The World. We just looked at 1 John 2:7-14 and in those verses, the apostle John put a huge emphasis on loving other brothers and sisters in Christ. As a matter of fact He said that not loving another brother or sister in Christ is a clear sign that one is still unsaved ( walking in the dark). He ended up that portion of the Scriptures by naming the people to whom he was writing. And we said that he did it to make sure his message reached the ears of the right people. We also recalled that the church had been infiltrated with false teachers who were promoting licentious living. So when John wrote this letter, he wanted to make sure that the people group that would read the letters would be able to tell the difference between genuine believers and frauds. We’re going to continue today with verses 15-17 in which John makes a very stern statement-” Don’t love the world”. See video below
The Passage: Don’t Love The world
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life[a]—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

My name is Tayib Salami and I started Tayibs.com for the sole purpose of exploring difficult questions about the Christian faith that most of us shy away from. In 2017, I entered a very dark time in my life and it’s only by the grace of the Living God that I’m still alive today. It led me to really go deeper in my faith and consider a myriad of questions that I never thought about asking myself or others before. Welcome and enjoy the ride with me.
