Does Understanding Biblical Doctrines Even Matter?

Does understanding Biblical doctrines even matter? People often say that understanding sound biblical doctrines doesn’t really matter because doctrines divide. Well if you go back to the garden of Eden, how do you think Adam and Eve were led into sin? What does Genesis 3:1 says

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You[a] shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”

The word of God was questioned and they failed to remain loyal to the word of God because their understanding of it was shaky, and the deceiver being the deceiver that he is capitalized on it. The enemy’s methods haven’t changed, he constantly assault the integrity of the Word of God. A few days ago I was listening to a preacher who was talking about satan’s objections to speaking in tongues and some of the points that he made weren’t consistent with what the Bible teaches and I wanted talk about that today.
