How Did Jesus Come By Water And Blood, A Closer Look At 1 John 5:6-8

Spread the love

What does it mean for Jesus to have come by water and blood? We’ll continue with chapter 5 of the book of first John and give our attention to verses 6- 8. Last week , we talked about the nature and characteristics of those that have been adopted as children of God. And we said that to be qualified as a child of God requires a person to be indwelled by the Spirit of God in accordance with the Scriptures. We also talked about how obeying and being a doer of the word of God shows that we love other brothers and sisters in Christ. In today’s presentation John is going to teach us why the Jesus that he has been preaching is the only and true Son of God, begotten of the Father , not made.

Jesus came by water and blood, the significance

The Passage:

Testimony Concerning the Son of God

This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree.
